Best Zojirushi Rice Cooker

- What is the best SLOW COOKER and RICE COOKER?
I'm shopping for a Slow Cooker and a Rice Cooker. I'm not sure which brand or model is good out there. I heard Zojirushi for rice cooker is the best. I'm unsure about slow cooker. Any suggestion help. Thank you!

A Slow cookers are pretty basic. I'd just suggest you get one w/ a removable crock that can go in the dishwasher for easy cleaning, and a heavy glass lid (not plastic). High, Low, and a Keep Warm settings are also nice.

- What is the best rice cooker money can buy?
I live in the UK and eat rice twice a day and with Christmas just around the corner I want to treat myself to the best rice cooker I can get my hands on (money is not an issue). I know that the Japanese brands of Tiger and Zojirushi are very good and have features like specific settings for brown rice, white rice, sushi rice which is very appealing (rather than the standard slow cooker features). I want the rice cooker to last a long time and I have read from reviews on the internet that Japanese brands are the most long lasting. The Korean Cuckoo brand also gets some good reviews. Does anyone have any recommendations on these brands and if they are the best money can buy?

A With regards to Sonia's answer...this is not really answering your question is it Denise? If you eat rice twice a day then getting a good rice cooker is a very smart thing to do. In fact, I would say its almost an essential kitchen appliance to have. Just go to East Asia to see just how many asians use rice cookers (a LOT!) and for good reasons. I personally own a Zojirushi and the Japanese and other asians think a lot about this machines. My Zojirushi takes the hassle out of cooking rice...which even the most experienced chefs have said make the job easy at the touch of one button. It has the functions you are looking for...(brown, sushi, white rice etc) and can cook porridge etc and even be used as a slow cooker if you wanted? The main point is that Sonia's method for making rice will never meet the result of a Zojirushi and you can't put a saucepan on a timer (like you can with a Zojirushi) and will not be as easy to clean or offer the functionality or durability that a Zojirushi offers. I've only spoken about Zojirushi because thats my personal experience. Tiger brand is also good but I've heard they are not as reliable. Take a look at the extensive good reviews for Zojirushi on the net. Cuckoo brand is also good but hard to get outside of Korea and all the one's I have seen have had instructions/buttons in Korean and none in English.
