Programmable Rice Cooker

- How to cook a Cornish hen in the slow cooker?
I bought a 6 qt programmable slow cooker. I want to get into using slow cookers but I need some ideas for cornish hens. Any recipes or suggestions? We like saltier tasting foods. I just want to be sort of basic for the first time. I know 2 can fit, but can you put one on top of the two? If not that is fine. I have: Dressing (stove top) Rice (white or rice-a-roni) 2 thawed cornish game hens Raw whole potatoes (of course will be diced if used) I have that and spices to work with. I am not trying to cook all of that, just letting you know what is here. Any combination of the items is fine. If you know how to cook the potatoes, please tell me. And even how to cook the rice. Thank you in advance. I really want to use potatoes lol. Everything says to put something under the meat? Why is this? Will the rice cook without being immersed in a liquid at the same time?

A leave the potatoes in their jackets and put under the hens they will absorb the flavor and the fat of the meat .if you didn't have potatoes i would use carrots to keep the meat up out of the broth but they are generally to greasy to use for a side can be used in stock tho. i like to sprinkle mine with lots of lemon pepper. they cook just like any other chicken. probably 4 hrs on low.check a good while before dinner to see if you need to turn it to high for a while. stove top works fine in the slow cooker as does riceroni .i do not recommend them under any meat though.
