The Neuro Fuzzy® Rice Cooker

ThinkGeek code monkey Jamie has one of these bad boys at his place and swears by it. No, no, he doesn't stand next to it and hurl expletives. Maybe you do that in the kitchen, but Jamie doesn't. He just pours in some rice and water, presses a couple buttons, and walks away, probably to brush out his luxuriously long locks. (Obviously because one doesn't do that in the kitchen.) When he returns, the rice is cooked to perfection and his hair is beautiful and shiny. The Fuzzy Rice Cooker features advanced logic technology, which allows it to think for itself and make adjustments to the temperature and timing of your batch of rice totally on the fly. A spherical inner cooking pan and heating system distributes heat evenly so the rice at the bottom is the same consistency as the rice on the top. It'll do brown rice, white rice, sushi rice, even oatmeal. For those nights you don't want to wait, a quick cook program will make white rice in just 15 minutes, exactly the amount of time it'll take you to make a stir fry out of all those vegetables in your crisper and that leftover rotisserie chicken.

Sushi Rice Cooker Reviews - FAQ and Questions
- How do you cook sushi rice in a rice cooker?
I just bought a Cuisinart 8-cup rice cooker and tried to cook sushi rice in it for the first time. It was a disaster! Waaay to sticky & mushy. I cooked Japanese sweet rice and used the ratio recommended on the package (not for rice cookers) which was 1 1/c cups of rice to 3 cups of water. My instruction booklet did not give a ratio for this type of rice but it has another one for "sushi rice" which is 3 cups of rice, using the rice cooker measuring cup, and 2 1/4 cups of water plus 2 tablespoons of sake. Perhaps I should have used that? When I added 3 cups of water to the rice in the cooker, it came to the "2" line. What did I do wrong??? I have made nearly perfect sushi rice on the stove before but wanted the cooker for convenience. Help!!
A I find that regardless of the type of rice (except wild, which isn't actually rice) go with the cooker instructions not the instructions on the package of rice. If you put in a cup of rice, fill with water to the "1" line on the cooker and so forth. On that scale, it looks like you added almost twice as much water as you should of (1 cup of rice, but filled liquid to the "2" line). That being said, when I try a new brand or type of rice that I have not cooked before, I normally err on the side of a little less liquid just to be safe - you can always add more, but you can't get too much out of the rice once it is in there. Fill to just a little below the appropriate line and if the results come out too dry and firm, pour some additional liquid over the rice and restart the machine.

- How long do I put sushi rice in a rice cooker?
I'm trying to cook 2 cups of sushi rice in my new rice cooker. The bag of rice says to follow rice cooker instructions to see how long you cook it for. Then the rice cooker instructions say to look at the bag of rice. So how long do I cook the rice for? I can't go checking the rice every couple of minutes because it is sushi rice and you are not supposed to open the pot/cooker in order to keep the steam in :(
A Measuring is easy. Put the rice in the rice cooker pan. Lay your fingers flat on the rice, Fill with water till it reaches the last knuckle of your third finger. For one cup of rice or ten, that's the measurement. Timing is the same as regular rice, so start the rice cooker and it will shut itself off.
